Wildlife Computers is hiring a Manufacturing Casting Technician to support the hands-on production of electronic instruments used in wildlife research and conservation. In this role, you’ll perform casting, assembly, and finishing work in a collaborative, fast-paced manufacturing environment—helping build technology that supports scientists around the world.
Since 1984, Wildlife Computers has been a global leader in wildlife telemetry. Our satellite tags are used to study and protect animals such as whales, seals, sharks, and sea turtles. Data from our products has contributed to thousands of research publications and helped shape environmental policy worldwide.
- Cast electronic instruments and silicone molds
- Perform mechanical assembly including potting, encapsulating, sanding, bonding, and finishing
- Follow detailed procedures, drawings, and work instructions
- Schedule and execute casting to meet production timelines
- Maintain molds, tools, and equipment
- Monitor materials and assist with inventory
- Inspect finished products to ensure quality and accuracy
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Participate in company safety programs
- Occasionally work evenings or weekends to meet deadlines
- High school diploma or GED required
- 12–18 months of manufacturing or related experience preferred
- Experience with mechanical assembly or casting is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Ability to follow instructions and work with your hands
- Basic math skills (ratios, percentages, volume)
- Problem-solving skills and a team-oriented mindset
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
- Repetitive hand and wrist motions
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs occasionally
- Comfortable working with PPE in a manufacturing/lab environment
- Exposure to moderate noise, chemicals, dust, and moving equipment
- $24–$28 per hour, depending on experience
