What are the responsibilities and job description for the Occupational Therapist position at WildFree Kids OT, LLC?
We are seeking an experienced Pediatric Occupational Therapist (OTR) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in emotional/behavioral disabilities, trauma, caregiver coaching and pediatric therapy. WildFree Kids OT is an OT owned practice, serving Wasilla, Palmer and the surrounding areas in children's homes, the community and nature! We have 104-acres of private and pristine Alaska to play and learn! We help children and families with regulation, resiliency and relationships, and everything in between, involving the families every step of the way. We take pride in our extensive knowledge, training and expertise in helping with emotional and behavioral conditions.
OTR pay is $80-85 DOE, COTA pay is $50-65 DOE. We are flexible and want to work with you for a personalized benefits package, including CEU/professional development, PTO, etc.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited OT program (COTA, Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate)
- NBCOT certification or pending
- Holds a current OT license in Alaska or pending
Responsibilities:
- Willingness to travel to children’s homes or nature based location.
- Communicate directly with caregivers for improved overall progress and resource assistance, as needed and within parameters of care.
- Complete screenings and evaluations to determine OT appropriateness, collaborate with families to develop appropriate and meaningful goals.
- Create plans of care and communicate with referrers.
- Complete re-evaluations as indicated to determined continuation of care or discharge.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for clients.
- Monitor and document progress
We take pride in helping children and their families, providing 1:1 services at this time including caregiver education. WildFree plans on implementing nature-based services and groups in the coming months, starting in February and beyond. We use neurodivergent and trauma informed approaches. We provide meaningful and personalized training and education, mentoring and collaborating every step of the way. WildFree Kids uses a relationship approach to guiding and teaching, not shame, guilt, punishment and rewards, etc., and applicants must understand and practice this. This is a flexible position, you get to determine your hours, schedule, location!
