What are the responsibilities and job description for the Barista position at Wildflour Cafe?
Seeking hard-working indivuduals with a positive mindset and good vibes to join our team and share in our love and enthusiasm for coffee.
Our small, still-kind-of-new cafe is busy and getting busier all the time. We were recently voted Best of NH in seven different categories, and we're looking for good people to join our team and continue our mission of providing amazing food and coffee to anyone who walks through our door.
Experience is not required.
We are willing to train the right individual. But an interest in or affinity for coffee and cafe culture will be a huge plus.
Even more importantly, we are looking for people who are team players and who aren't afraid of work actually being work. There's lots to do to keep our cafe running, and we all pitch in (including us, the owners). There's not a lot of down time, but there are free meals, bonus pastries, staff outings, flexible scheduling, and lots of fun to be had. Just come to work expecting to be busy and working on a variety of tasks, and we should be a great match.
We ask for a minimum weekly availablity of 20 hours. Early shifts start at 5 or 6 am. Closing shifts usually start at 8/9 and finish around 3:30 or 4. Availibility to work both opening and closing shifts will be a huge plus.
We also offer flexible scheduling and are able to work around time off requests. Additional benefits include staff meals, holidays off (we close for the big ones) and paid time off (after a minimum of six-months on the job).
We are closed on Tueadays and Wednesdays, so a full-time position would be from Thursday-Monday. Occasional shifts are available on Wednesday if we need to prepare for a big weekend or event.
Tasks will be varied and will grow over time, but starting responsibilities include:
- Making all drinks on our menu, from regular drip coffee and iced coffee to lattes and lemonades. This requires having a strong fundamental understanding of coffee as well as our menu.
- Keeping up with syrup and milk stocks and making more when needed following house recipes.
- Cleaning and maintaining the coffee stations
- Assisting with the register and front-area maintenance as needed.
If you're interested in joining our team, please send us your resume, answer the questions at the end of the application, and anything else that gives us an idea of who you are. If you seem like a good fit, we'll get in touch for an interview.
Thanks!
