Wildcat Contractors is now accepting resumes for an Accounting Manager to join our team. The accounting manager is responsible for managing our books, financial reporting, and record keeping.

Position Overview: As the Accounting Manager, you will be a key player in ensuring the financial strength and integrity of our construction projects while fostering strong customer relationships. We are seeking a candidate with a robust background in financial management specific to the construction industry, with a focus on project accounting, cost control, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have experience with Viewpoint Vista, bring expertise in managing financial processes unique to construction operations, and understand the importance of customer satisfaction in financial operations. In this position, the applicant must have good interpersonal and communication skills to maintain positive relationships with other employees, customers, and vendors.

  • In-office: Gastonia, NC Office
  • Monday to Friday

Responsibilities:

1.   Project Financial Management:

  • Oversee project accounting, including tracking costs, equipment management, budgeting, and financial reporting for construction projects.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.

2.    Expense Oversight:

  • Review and oversee all submitted expenses to ensure validity, accuracy, and appropriateness in accordance with company policies and industry standards.
  • Implement and maintain efficient expense reporting systems and processes to streamline validation and approval workflows.

3.    Payroll:

  • Process payroll on a weekly basis, ensuring correct wages, bonuses, and other liabilities and deductions.
  • File payroll tax returns and reports accurately and timely.

4.    Accounts Receivable:

  • Generate and distribute accurate invoices to clients in a timely manner, ensuring adherence to contractual terms and company policies.
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and follow up with clients regarding overdue payments. Implement effective collection strategies to minimize outstanding balances and reduce delinquency.

5.    Tax Compliance and Financial Reporting:

  • Perform monthly reconciliation of the general ledger and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of all required tax returns, including corporate income tax, sales tax, and other relevant tax obligations.
  • Collaborate with external tax partner to facilitate comprehensive financial and tax reviews.
  • Prepare and present financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.


Job Qualifications and Requirements

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certification will be considered a strong asset.
  • Strong experience with Viewpoint Vista or similar general ledger accounting system required
  • Advanced Excel skills required
  • Experience with construction accounting preferred
  • Familiarity with payroll a plus
  • Excellent attention to detail as well as strong written and oral communication
  • Demonstrated ability to provide meaningful analysis to the management team in decision-making for performance improvement
  • Demonstrate strong business acumen
  • Ability to build relationships with all levels within the organization
  • Proven ability to multi-task and prioritize various assignments

Salary : $85,000 - $115,000
