About the Role
The Peanuts Worldwide team is looking for a Licensing Associate, Hardlines! Reporting to the VP, Global Hardlines, the Licensing Associate, Hardlines will be responsible for building and managing Peanuts' domestic licensing program. In this role, you will directly manage existing partners, prospect and secure new licensees in addition to working closely with other Peanuts departments to bring products to life!
Responsibilities
- Manage Peanuts licensees in the following categories:
- Toys & Games; Gifts and Collectibles; Seasonal & Stationery; Food & Beverage; Promotions
- Identify, pitch, and sign new licensees tied to specific revenue goals and annual growth for the overall Peanuts Worldwide domestic business
- Manage day-to-day business, including all aspects of category management: financials, contracts (new deals, amendments and renewals), category analysis, product development strategy, and retail placement
- Partner with VP, Global Hardlines to develop strategies for categories at all levels of retail and ecommerce
- Update and maintain all internal documents and trackers
- Oversee new contract negotiations, ensuring terms meet the company requirements and overall business objectives
- Domestic travel is required
Qualifications
- Experience in the licensing industry working in sales and/or brand management
- Experience pitching properties, securing deals, negotiating deal points and managing licensees; preferably in character or entertainment
- Proven track record of establishing strong relationships and contacts with key players across hardlines categories; retail relationships are a plus
- Motivated self-starter who demonstrates strong initiative, creativity and excellent work ethic
- Flexible team player with positive attitude and ability to work collaboratively across the company
- Strong organizational skills and ability to think strategically to complete tasks in a timely fashion
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of administrative organization
- Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal skills
- Problem solver that acts decisively and demonstrates good judgement
- Thrives in a fast paced, changing environment that necessitates working on many different projects simultaneously
- Proficient in MS Office programs (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
- College degree, preferably in Business or related field, an asset
