Infant/Toddler Coordinator

Wild Lilac Child Development Community is seeking an experienced educational leader to fill our Infant-Toddler Coordinator position.

The coordinator role is an administrative and leadership position within the school. Looking for educators with an ORO Step 7 or higher. Compensation $28.18/hr - $33.15/hr depending on qualifications.

Program Philosophy
Our nonprofit school is inspired by the RIE and Reggio Emilia philosophies and is rooted in social constructivism. We create our curriculum in response to our children's ideas, passions, and questions. Primary Responsibilities:

Supporting Teachers and Classrooms

• Oversight of classroom administrative tasks including documentation related to attendance, allergies/medications, incident reporting, daily logs, and cleaning and sanitization checklists.
• Conduct regular classroom observations and, based on findings, create and implement tools in support of classroom operations and teacher-child interactions in alignment with schools pedagogy and developmental needs of the children.
• Meet with teachers regularly to discuss classroom dynamics, shifting developmental needs, and assist with problem solving within philosophical and policy guidelines.
• Support classroom project work.
• Develop goals for teacher growth.
• Provide ongoing training for current and shifting developmental stages.
• Provide assistance with cleaning, stocking, as needed.
• Provide on-boarding training and coaching to new staff.
• Substitute for absent teachers as needed.

Supporting Families

• Help families understand and appreciate Wild Lilac curriculum and philosophy.
• Support families with child behavior.
• Lead new family orientations.
• Meet with parents/facilitate teacher-parent meetings when appropriate.

Director Extensions

• Meet regularly with the director
• Assist with assessments and give input on teacher evaluations.
• Encourage teachers to take part in training/classes and community building events.
• Demonstrate flexibility and awareness of school-wide needs.
• Assist with scheduling. Communicate scheduling updates to teachers and families.
• Seek out additional information and training in areas beyond expertise, as needed.
• Ensure consistency of and adherence to policies and procedures related to:
• Licensing guidelines
• Wild Lilac philosophy and best practices
• Health, Safety and Emergency protocols

Qualified applicants need to:

• Have a minimum of 5 years professional childcare experience - preferably with infants and toddlers.
• Have a minimum of two years of management and/or coaching experience.
• Have a Step 9 or higher in the Oregon Registry Online (ORO)
• Demonstrate an extensive understanding of Reggio and RIE educational philosophy.
• Demonstrate an extensive understanding child development
• Have strong verbal and written communication skills
• Be self-motivated, a problem solver, and able to work autonomously
• Be available to work 40hrs/week
