What are the responsibilities and job description for the Banquet Bartender position at Wild Dunes Resort?
The Banquet Bartender/ON CALL is responsible for serving food and beverages to guests at banquet events. Their duties include greeting guests and taking their orders, bringing them the correct drinks and dishes and refilling their beverages and/or stations as needed.
Previous bartending experience required.
- Assist with the complete setup and breakdown of the banquet area
- Relay food and beverage orders as needed
- Maintain a high level of cleanliness and awareness of sanitary practices
- Relay important information about orders, allergies and special requests to the appropriate person
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that will likely include evenings, weekends, and holidays
Essential job FUNCTIONS:
- Mix, garnish, and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and specialty drinks in accordance with established recipes.
- Set up the bar area for banquet events, including stocking liquor, glassware, utensils, and garnishes.
- Regularly check and maintain bar equipment, such as blenders, shakers, and refrigeration.
- Adhere to all applicable laws and regulations related to the sale and service of alcohol.
- Follow proper sanitation and ensure the bar is always free from safety hazards.
- Process guest payments accurately, handle cash and credit card transactions, and provide change as necessary.
- Serve guests promptly and responsibly, ensuring compliance with legal drinking age service guidelines.
- South Carolina ServSafe Alcohol Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire) required.
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, snow, heat);
- Must be able to repetitively lift, push, pull & carry up to 15 lbs., frequently up to 25 lbs. and occasionally up to 75 lbs.
- Must be able to twist, bend and squat frequently; kneel or crawl occasionally; climb stairs frequently
- Must be able to perform repetitive hand & arm movements, pushing and pulling and simple grasping frequently; squeezing, overhead reaching & fine manipulation occasionally.
