What are the responsibilities and job description for the HR Recruiter/Generalist position at Wild Adventures?
POSITION SUMMARY
The Human Resources Recruiter provides an essential function to the park by ensuring optimum staffing levels of seasonal team members required for operations. This role is responsible for the successful recruiting, onboarding, and staffing functions of Human Resources.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Ensures compliance with federal and state regulations as well as company policy as related to all aspects of Human Resources
- Researches, schedules, and carries out recruiting events both on and off-site
- Ensure open jobs are posted in the appropriate places to recruit qualified applicants
- Represents Wild Adventures in corporate counterpart meetings
- Assist with data entry, including but not limited to JDE, direct deposits, status changes, and updates, and Share It Forward withholding forms, ensuring timeliness and accuracy
- Source candidates using creative and effective outreach techniques
- Manages PCI trained lists and maintains communication with Finance/Cash Control
- Coordinates and manages rehires/rehire process with guidance from HR Ops Manager
- Assists with internal communication and rewards/recognition programs
- Upload all Team Member pictures to time card system
- Assists in Open Hire tasks as needed
- Assists with International Student worker (J1Visa) program
- Maintains Lowndes County Notary commission
- Facilitates Orientation training meetings; manage orientation schedule
- Assists with special events and projects as needed.
- Develop strong relationships with all local high school and college contacts to ensure support for off-site recruiting efforts
- Pre-screen applicants and make recommendations to hiring managers regarding potential candidates
- Act as point of contact and build influential candidate relationships during the selection process
- Coordinate and oversee on-site hiring days, ensuring efficient flow of applicants through each hiring step; coordinate with all necessary departments, i.e. First Aid for drug screens; creating appropriate Tasking Memos
- Partner with Marketing to ensure branded promotion of all job fairs and mass hiring events
- Strengthen and oversee community partner program to ensure success of supplemental staffing needs
- Ensure property participation in community hiring events
- Maintains confidentiality at all times
Onboarding
- Oversee all onboarding tasks to ensure timely completion by applicants
- Manage onboarding activities, to include scheduling of orientation, quality of program, and resolution of tasks
- Track and ensure compliance with all policies, including I-9, General Safety Training, PCI/InfoSec, Cash Handling, etc.
- Provide current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, benefit programs, and opportunities for promotion
Staffing
- Partner with operating departments to ensure optimum staffing levels are met
- Responsible for completion of weekly and other periodic reporting on employment activity and staffing levels including data on recruitment activities and events, applicant flow, interviews, hires, transfers, promotions, and terminations.
- Anticipate seasonal changes in staffing needs and develop proactive hiring plans to address
- Oversee Community Partner scheduling program, including communication of expectations and day of orientation
Other Requirements
- Must be willing to work outside of his or her zone of assignment to fulfill general park needs on occasion
- Ensure compliance with all Herschend Family Entertainment and Wild Adventures policies and procedures
- Represents the company to guests and other team members in a positive and friendly manner
- Satisfies Wild Adventures' standards for performance and conduct. For example, reports to work regularly and on time

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Primary workspace will be an indoor, professional office setting; occasionally requires outdoor work in all weather conditions and in presence of dust and odors. May be susceptible to the exposure of various chemicals, bodily fluids and blood borne pathogens, prolonged exposure to sunlight

EDUCATION: Associates Degree preferred, Field of Study: Human Resources, Hospitality, or related field
EXPERIENCE: 1- 2 years of experience in Recruiting required; Knowledge of Human Resources/Recruiting/Sales a plus
COMPUTER SKILLS: Microsoft Office Suite Experience required. HRIS or contact management systems, JD Edwards, SilkRoad-Open Hire, and/or Red Carpet preferred.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- This is not Monday-Friday, and the demands of the job exceed the traditional 40-hour work week routinely
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to read, write and speak English
- Must be available to work days, evenings, weekdays, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Must be proactive in continuously seeking and developing ways to be more effective
- Must have and maintain a valid Driver’s License and insurance
- Must have reliable transportation
