School Photographer

Wilcox Recognition located in southern middle Tennessee is committed to capturing beautiful, enduring portraits as well as providing students, families, and organizations with the highest level of quality and service in the photography industry for schools from elementary to the high school level. We are growing, so our company is looking for energetic, creative, and friendly photographers to join our team. Applicants will be subject to pass a background check.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Capture high-quality and visually appealing photographs in various settings andenvironments for students of all ages, faculty & staff, athletes, teams and groups.
• Produce quality portraits, group shots, sports action shots, etc. with little to no editing
• Assist in organizing and maintaining portfolio of images, including uploading,processing, and sharing.
• Organize, maintain, and carry photo equipment and props to each shoot.
• Assist others in setting up of stations for each photo shoot, as needed.
• Assist in editing and retouching photos using Adobe Creative Suite, Capture One, and other editing software.
• Maintain color management standards to ensure accurate representation of colors in photographs.
• Interact with staff and students to capture the best expression.
• Assist in delivery of editorial content to customers.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and techniques to continuously improve photography skills.
• Other duties as assigned by a management team member.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred, but not required.
• At least 1 year of experience as a photographer preferred.
• Proficient knowledge of Canon mirrorless technology.
• Experience working with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Lightroom, InDesign, Illustrator) for editing and retouching photos a plus, but not required.
• Familiarity with other editing software such as Capture One and Final Cut Pro is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of photography techniques, including camera settings, backdrops for variety of photo shoots, and lighting, inside and outside.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to capture the essence of a subject or scene.

Skills:

• Reliable, insured vehicle and U.S. driver's license.
• Willingness to work a varied seasonal schedule, including early mornings and some evenings, if needed.

• Is organized and has patience.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team to meet project deadlines.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and operate camera equipment - up to 40 lbs.
• Prolonged periods of standing.
