RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and manage store personnel in assigned departments, including scheduling, training, mentoring, coaching, and evaluating employees.
• Partner with the Store Manager on staff selection and other HR functions.
• Understand the needs of customers and provide and ensure customer service in assigned departments.
• Merchandise, stock, and sign departmental products utilizing established standards.
• Be informed and provide product information to customers and the store team in the designated department, and further develop department product knowledge.
• Maintain department orderliness and cleanliness by complying with all established standards.
• Recommend and participate with other inter-departmental team members in efforts to improve the value of the department.
• Fill in at other departments and cashier positions as needed.
• Attend regular and special meetings as requested.
• Maintain and comply with all established retail standards.
• Stock store merchandise as directed.

SPECIAL SKILLS/TRAINING

• Skill to operate a computer and other automated office machines.
• Ability to perform arithmetic calculations.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Ability to interact effectively with customers and co-workers.
• Ability to obtain specialized training certifications (i.e., Stihl, Benjamin Moore, etc.)

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

• Two years of retail department experience.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
