Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT)

LOCATION:Wilbraham Middle School JOB TYPE:Full-time SALARY:Negotiable based on experience JOB DESCRIPTION: We are currently seeking compassionate, reliable, and energetic Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) to join our school-based team. In this role, you will work directly with students diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), emotional disabilities, or other developmental challenges. Working under the close supervision of a district Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), the RBT is responsible for implementing individualized behavioral intervention plans aimed at helping students decrease challenging behaviors and increase functional, social, and academic skills within the classroom setting. This is not just a therapy role; it is a vital educational support role designed to help students access their learning environment. •Direct Implementation: Provide 1:1 or small group support to assigned student(s) throughout the school day, utilizing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles as directed by the BCBA. This includes discrete trial training (DTT) and natural environment training (NET). •Behavior Support: Rigorously implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) to reduce maladaptive behaviors and encourage replacement behaviors. •Data Collection: Collect real-time, accurate data on target behaviors and skill acquisition programs in real-time. •Classroom Support: Assist the student in navigating classroom routines, transitions between activities, recess, and lunch. Support the student in group instruction directed by the classroom teacher. •Collaboration: Maintain open, professional communication with the BCBA, classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers (SLP, OT, PT) to ensure consistency. •Crisis Management: Follow district protocols and behavior plans designed for crisis prevention and intervention to ensure the safety of the student and others. •Documentation: Complete daily session notes and other required documentation in a timely and professional manner.
