Under broad supervision, creates design specifications for a variety of complex components and/or systems. Analyzes design problems using engineering and mathematical principles. Makes design changes and prepares preliminary sketches for guidance of layout drafters. Coordinates major engineering projects. Consults with other engineers concerning design specifications, manufacturing processes, legal, safety, government requirements, and the like. Role typically requires between 3 and 5 years of experience.
