Job Summary: Performs "scrub" duties and specific duties appropriate. Assists the surgeon during operative and invasive procedures. Ensures operating suite is adequately prepared for procedure. Monitors PAR level of all surgical instruments. Participates in departmental performance improvement activities. OSHA Blood borne Pathogen Class I.
Job Qualifications:
A. Education: High School graduate or equivalent or graduate of a Surgical Technician program.
B. Personal Job-Related Skills: Knowledge of surgical scrub duties preferred. The ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions.
C. Licensure, Registry or Certification: Certification as a Surgical Technician preferred. BLS required. CPI required.
D. Experience:
1. Prior work experience: Operating Room experience preferred.
2. Technical Training: Surgical Technician program preferred.
