Wihlm Dental is looking for a skilled chairside Dental Assistant to join our growing family dental practice. Our ideal candidate will assist our 3 dentists in delivering quality care to our patients while ensuring a comfortable, relaxing, and welcoming environment. This position offers the opportunity to work with a dynamic team and contribute to the success of our practice. Commitment to proper OSHA protocols is required. Experience with Dentrix, digital x-rays and charting is preferred. However, we are willing to train the perfect candidate. Strong computer skills, communication skills and attention to detail is required. We are ready for another great team player to join us!
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentists during dental procedures, including but not limited to, chairside assisting and handing instruments.
- Prepare treatment rooms by ensuring they are disinfected, organized and properly stocked.
- Take x-rays.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-operative care and preventive dental practices.
- Select and set up instruments, equipment and materials as needed
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments according to regulations
- Record and maintain accurate patient records, including treatment plans, clinical notes and medical histories.
- Undertake lab tasks as instructed.
- Maintain compliance with infection control and OSHA regulations to uphold the highest standards of safety and cleanliness.
- Schedule appointments and review upcoming appointments to ensure efficient operation in the office.
Skills
- Proven experience as dental assistant is advantageous
- Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
- Understanding of health & safety regulations
- Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks like coronal polishing is a plus
- Good computer skills
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Attention to detail
- Well-organized and reliable
- High school diploma; graduating from dental assistant school is preferred
