Duties
- Perform comprehensive grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and styling to meet each pet’s specific needs and owner preferences
- Handle dogs safely using animal restraint techniques and proper handling skills to ensure comfort and safety during grooming sessions
- Conduct pet nail trimming, ear cleaning, and other hygiene procedures with precision and care
- Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand grooming requests, provide updates, and offer pet care advice
- Maintain a clean and organized grooming station, including sanitation of tools and work area between appointments
- Assist with pet training or behavioral guidance as needed to facilitate grooming procedures
- Support veterinary staff with basic animal handling or care tasks if required, leveraging veterinary experience or veterinary technician background
Experience
- Proven experience in pet grooming, dog handling, or animal care roles such as veterinary technician or veterinary assistant
- Knowledge of dog training techniques and behavioral management strategies
- Familiarity with animal restraint methods and safe handling practices for various breeds and sizes
- Strong communication skills to interact confidently with pet owners and team members
- Ability to perform pet coat styling with attention to detail and an eye for aesthetics
- Physical ability to lift heavy pets or equipment as needed for grooming tasks
- Experience working with animals in veterinary or equine environments is a plus but not required
