Wieland is hiring a Casting Operator. The Casting Operator will operate the furnace to melt and refine metal to produce copper ingots.
Starting Pay: 25.00
Schedule: Rotating 12-hour Shifts | 2 Weekends off per month & 8 Days off after 4 rotations!
- Night Shift: 6:30 PM - 6:00 AM
Pay Schedule: Weekly
Casting Operator Responsibilities:
- Replenish casting consumables and raw materials and notify of low stock.
- Direct foundry technicians during the shift to assist in the casting operation.
- Prep pour spout
- Monitor furnace operation
- Set-up caster
- Cast heat and shutdown
- Respond to emergencies and make decisions quickly and efficiently. Time is of the essence in casting.
- Effectively and immediately communicate problems, safety issues, and quality deficiencies.
- Completes scheduled checks for spotting any malfunctions and unsafe conditions and reports and corrects them.
- Must keep the work area clean, follow all safety guidelines and PPE regulations, and perform basic machine maintenance.
- All other duties assigned during shifts.
Casting Operator Qualifications:
- 3 years of manufacturing experience
- 3 years of forklift experience
- 1 years of heavy equipment operation
- Ability to work from verbal instructions
- Good hand-eye coordination
- Good technical aptitude
- Computer literate
- Ability to work rotating shifts
- High School Diploma
- Positive Attitude
- Excellent attendance
