Join Wiegel Tool Works as a full-time apprentice and build a career at the intersection of precision and production. You’ll learn end-to-end tool and die making for advanced manufacturing while enrolled in a structured training and education program.

Program Snapshot
  • Duration: Five years
  • On-the-Job Training: 10,000 paid hours at Wiegel headquarters
  • Schooling: Three years through the Technology & Manufacturing Association (TMA)
  • Tuition: All TMA tuition and education-related expenses paid by Wiegel
  • Status: Full-time employment during the apprenticeship
  • Schedule: 40 hours/week, Monday–Friday
  • Classes: Required evening courses at TMA twice per week (3 hours each)
  • Academic Calendar: Two 14-week semesters annually
  • Credential: National Certificate of Completion from the U.S. Department of Labor at program end
  • Next Step: Advancement opportunity to a Journeyman Tool and Die Maker position at Wiegel
Training Domains You’ll Rotate Through
  • Tool design and die machining
  • Turning, machining, jig boring, and jig grinding
  • Die assembly, die grinding, and maintenance/repair
  • Electrode manufacturing, plunge EDM, and wire EDM operation
  • CNC machining, CNC programming, and wire programming
  • Polishing, finishing, heat treat preparation, and hole popping
  • Layout inspection, quality inspections, and sensor applications
  • Press room operations

Outcomes

Upon successful completion, you’ll receive a nationally recognized Certificate of Completion from the U.S. Department of Labor and be positioned to move into a full-time Journeyman Tool and Die Maker role at Wiegel Tool Works.
