What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Mechanic - Night Shift position at Wide Effect?
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Demonstrate and promote a Safety First culture by consistently following OSHA standards and company safety programs, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), GMP, Arc Flash procedures, proper PPE usage, and housekeeping expectations.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair manufacturing equipment including plastic molding machines, auxiliary systems, robotics, and related production machinery.
- Apply working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, PLC, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to maintain operational efficiency.
- Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions using blueprints, repair manuals, schematics, and parts catalogs.
- Install, assemble, maintain, and repair electrical, electronic, plumbing, piping, and mechanical systems and equipment.
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical equipment and automated systems, including transformers and robotic equipment.
- Coordinate with external vendors to source replacement parts, supplies, and service support.
- Perform and support preventive maintenance activities on weekly, monthly, and annual schedules.
- Inspect, identify, and repair compressed air leaks and related utility issues.
- Participate in and support Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) inspections and compliance activities.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, food safety, food quality, and all applicable customer and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate across departments and support plant initiatives, projects, and operational priorities as needed.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Preferred: 3–5 years of manufacturing maintenance experience and/or related technical training.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong mechanical aptitude with demonstrated knowledge of electrical controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity and accountability.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to document equipment issues and communicate shift updates.
- Ability to build positive working relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Experience contributing to initiatives involving safety, quality, production, continuous improvement, and employee engagement.
- Professional, respectful, and team-oriented approach to work.
- Commitment to maintaining clean equipment and an organized facility environment.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Must provide and maintain a personal basic tool set.
Salary : $54,000 - $66,000
