Duties

• Prepare and cook a variety of short order meals, including sandwiches, burgers, salads, and snacks, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Take customer orders accurately, communicate effectively with team members, and serve food promptly to ensure a positive guest experience.
• Assist with menu planning for daily specials or seasonal offerings, considering dietary preferences and nutritional requirements.
• Handle food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, assembling ingredients, and portioning to facilitate quick service.
• Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies; notify management when stock needs replenishing.
• Follow all food handling procedures and safety protocols to ensure a safe dining environment for staff and guests.

Skills

• Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or as a short order or line cook in a restaurant or food service setting.
• Strong knife skills and familiarity with various cooking techniques used in quick-service environments.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling practices to prevent contamination.
• Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and catering is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication skills for taking orders accurately and working effectively within a team.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy periods while maintaining high-quality standards.
