The Scale Operator is responsible for:
- Operating and maintaining of scales at the County Landfill
- Directing traffic to proper loading and unloading areas
- Performing visual inspection of loads of waste to verify waste origin and unacceptable waste
- Maintaining records of waste generation area
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent; One (1) years of experience in Solid Waste Disposal Facility; Stone quarry or similar material hauling operation where weighing is a primary duty; Knowledge of standard office machines including computer skills; Ability to keep accurate records and be responsible for the same; Ability to operate computerized truck scales; Good communication skills; Ability to work effectively with the public and commercial haulers; Valid Driver’s License Ability to pass background check and drug screening; Ability to work a four-day work week consisting of 10 hours per workday.
