What are the responsibilities and job description for the Contractual Tutor/Teacher position at Wicomico County Public Schools?
LOCATION Wicomico County Public Schools Title I Elementary Schools
(Beaver Run, Chipman, East Salisbury, Fruitland Intermediate, Fruitland Primary, Glen Avenue, Pemberton, Pinehurst, Prince Street, West Salisbury, Willards)
If you are currently a substitute or contractual employee (non benefited) you are not eligible to work this position and continue your current position.
SALARY
$38.40/hour contractual with no benefits.
Position contingent upon continued grant funding.
HOURS
Up to 29 hours per week. (As determined by funding available.)
Available during normal school day.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Current Maryland Professional Certifiacate/License in Early Childhood PreK-3 and/or Elementary Education 1-6 required
- Experience working with students in a classroom setting.
- Ability to collaborate and plan with classroom teachers.
- Knowledge of online communication platforms, email, Microsoft Word.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, teachers, and adminstration.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Self-starter with excellent organizational skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Report to the School Adminstration and/or Title I Office.
- Have a proven track record in providing reading and math instruction or intervention.
- Conduct parent involvement activities /events that support family engagement in student learning.
- Develop and promote a caring and respectful relationship with and among all students.
- Maintain a structured in-person learning environment.
- Work with the staff, student(s)and parent(s) to develop effective intervention strategies.
- Collect, maintain, and provide data necessary to evaluate program effectiveness.
- Attend professional development activities as appropriate.
- Maintain supplemental educational supplies provided by Title I Office.
- Complete administrative tasks and other assignments required by the Title I Office in a timely manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
