Summary
Brightline is looking for a motivated, experienced, and dependable Maintenance Technician to assist in servicing our portfolio of residential and commercial properties. The Maintenance Technician helps protect physical assets by conducting general maintenance repairs as well as preventative maintenance across properties in the Ann Arbor area. We seek the right person to join us as we continue to add value to real estate and make our community a better place in which to live and work.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Complete necessary maintenance and repair tasks at residential and commercial properties and ensure the reliability of building systems. This includes HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances, basic drywall repairs, and other general interior/exterior repairs.
- Perform other general building maintenance and unit turns as requested or as preventively scheduled.
- Maintain positive working relationships with tenants and respond to requests and issues in a timely, professional, and courteous manner.
- Coordinate with other maintenance team members as well as outside vendors.
- Document maintenance and repair information electronically in accordance with established procedures.
- Comply with all fire/life/health/occupational safety procedures and standards.
- Collaborate with Leasing and Property Management teams.
- Utilize service issue software to establish priorities and set schedules.
- Serve as a dependable colleague on our team alongside other key stakeholders.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management across our portfolio of properties.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician
- Experience with residential, commercial, and/or industrial buildings including mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; ability to manage priorities and workflow
- Experience with service tickets/work order software including phone apps is a plus
- Experience supporting other technicians or helping coordinate maintenance activities is a plus
- Acute attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to understand and follow both verbal and written instructions
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications are a plus
- Valid driver’s license
