Responsibilities
- Safely operate a variety of construction machinery including excavators, loaders, graders, backhoes, dump trucks, and water trucks to perform excavation, grading, paving, and utility installation tasks.
- Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of equipment such as Caterpillar machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
- Assist with construction utility work by locating underground utilities accurately using utility locating techniques before excavation begins.
- Follow all federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures diligently to maintain a safe work environment for yourself and team members.
- Support construction grading activities by preparing surfaces for paving or other structural work, ensuring precision and adherence to project specifications.
- Operate horizontal drilling equipment for utility installation projects with attention to safety standards and technical accuracy.
- Collaborate with team members on site to execute project plans efficiently while adhering to construction site experience best practices.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment such as excavators, loaders, graders, backhoes, dump trucks, and water trucks in a construction setting.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic maintenance on machinery to prevent downtime.
- Familiarity with construction utility work including utility locating and horizontal drilling techniques.
- Valid commercial driver’s license with experience in commercial truck driving preferred; ability to operate various types of heavy vehicles safely.
- Knowledge of federal construction safety regulations and safety regulations related to heavy equipment operation.
- Construction experience involving excavation, grading, paving, or site preparation is highly desirable.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately while maintaining high safety standards on busy construction sites.

Pay: $24.80 - $29.87 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 – 50.0 per week
