What are the responsibilities and job description for the Host/Hosetess position at Wichita Marriott?
To greet and seat all guests in the restaurant in a warm and friendly manner in the fastest possible time. To set the tone of aggressive hospitality that will continue through the dining experience. To control seating in the restaurant so that no server is overloaded, and in a manner that is fair to all servers.
PRIMARY DAILY JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Ensure entrance to the restaurant has someone there to greet guests at all times.
- Ensure that the hostess stand is spotless at all times.
- Maintain guest flow charts to track the number of guests to each station.
- Check on tables to ensure that it is clean, spotless and fully setup before any guests are seated.
- Pitch in and help in service whenever the need arises.
- Check on guests upon departure to get any feedback on the quality of their meals and service. Share any problems that may arise with supervisor.
- Thank every guest.
- Have an excellent knowledge about the city in order to converse with the guest and give helpful suggestions.
- Be thorough about the knowledge of the hotel, services and amenities offered, and operating hours of all food and beverage outlets.
- Keep reservation book clean; make sure all reservations taken are accurate and detailed.
- Answer the phone in a professional and courteous manner.
- Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (INCLUDE LIFTING AND PUSHING):
Be able to stand on feet for up to four hours.
