Primary Purpose:
Under moderate supervision, perform data entry, records retrieval and file management duties for the athletic department office.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or GED
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Proficient computer skills
Customer Service experience including excellent telephone skills
Ability to follow oral and written instructions
One year of clerical experience preferred
Experience:
One year of clerical experience preferred
Performance Responsibilities and Duties:
Records, Reports, and Correspondence
- Ability to input data quickly and accurately using personal computer.
- Assists with the preparation of records, reports, and correspondence specific to the athletic department using a personal computer.
- Assist in the maintenance of physical and computerized departmental files.
- Maintain confidential personnel files.
Accounting
- Assists in the performance of routine bookkeeping tasks, including the use of simple arithmetic operations, for the department.
- Assists in processing of approved travel expenses.
- Process payments to Durham School Services.
- Assists in the purchase and payment authorizations associated with purchases specific to the athletic department.
- Keys and verifies results according to procedures provided.
- Recognizes and corrects errors in original data prior to processing along with the ability to recognize deficiencies in source documents and return them to originator for corrections.
- Sell reserved seating tickets and athletic passes to the public during football season.
- Reconcile gate receipts for athletic events at Memorial Complex.
- Withdraw gate bank and deposit gate money to AMNAT Bank.
Athletic Facility
- Assign workers to Memorial Complex Fields and athletic events.
- Attend all events at Memorial Complex and assist with ticket sales, monitoring employees, reconciliation of gate receipts, and depositing of proceeds.
Other
- Respond to needs of internal and external customers.
- Maintain a positive attitude toward quality, safety, productivity and teamwork.
- Good oral and written communications skills.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work with moderate supervision and use judgment to best allocate time.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Employees working events at Memorial Complex and other sporting events.
Equipment Used:
Personal computer, printer, scanner, fax machine, copier, calculator and microfilm reader.
Working Conditions:
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Work with frequent interruptions, maintain emotional control under stress. Repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer. Requires working overtime at Memorial Stadium up to four nights a week and on weekends throughout the year.
