**Distinguishing Features of Work**
This is skilled work in the safe and efficient operation of heavy and
specialized equipment used to maintain assets associated with the Flood
Control Project and Stormwater Management System. May supervise other
staff in completion of assigned tasks. Work is performed independently,
but under the general direction of a supervisor.
This position will require working outdoors in inclement weather
including but not limited to, rain, snow, ice, sleet, heat, and humidity
plus snow and ice removal and/or emergency response operations that
would include operating equipment and vehicles on overnight shifts,
weekends and in low-light and low visibility conditions, or other
adverse weather conditions.

- Clean, repair, and replace storm sewer conduits and structures.
- Performs mechanical maintenance and service work on equipment
- Assists supervisors in various phases of operations, including daily

- Ability to tolerate equipment and machinery noise with the use of
push, pull, climb (ladders and in and out of vehicular equipment),
bend, twist, reach, stand, and walk about (up to half a mile at a

- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds
- Ability to lift and carry up to 200 pounds with assistance from
