What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lower School Aide position at Wichita Collegiate School?
Wichita Collegiate School (WCS), a thriving Independent School located in Wichita, KS, is hiring lower school classroom aides to support our lead teachers.
The primary responsibilities of an Aide include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Support the classroom teacher with all the necessary preparation for effective instruction.
- 4 hours a day of in-class reading support at the teacher's discretion to work with a small group.
- Support enhancements with an assigned group of students as needed.
- Support division administration tasks as needed.
- Supervise lunch and ensure the lunch room is clean, orderly, and a positive experience.
- Supervise recess and guide children to play safely.
- Support team and division-specific student activities with your time and talents.
- Contribute to the overall positive climate of the school.
- Attend all professional development provided by the school.
Successful aides have completed some coursework in education and have at least six months of classroom experience.

Working Environment: Lower school aids will be expected to be on campus from the first day of school through the last day of school; they may be required to participate in training or meetings before the first day of school. Work schedule is Monday through Friday on school days from 8 am to 4 pm.
