Laundry Supervisor
Status: Seasonal (April to October), Full-time, Non-exempt
Responsibility: Low level of supervision needed. High level of operational decision-making.
Reports to: Housekeeping Manager.
Supervise: 1 to 3 employees
Skill: High school diploma/GED required. The ability to multitask and manage your time. Attention to detail, customer focus, reliability, listening skills, adaptability, planning and organizing, teamwork, and high energy levels. Previous experience in a hotel laundry/linen department, with a minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience in large laundry operations of a hotel.
Effort: Ability to lift, push, and pull the required load (usually about 50lbs). Very labor-intensive.
Work Conditions: Flexible schedule, able to work weekends, holidays, and overnight. Work in a very hot environment.
Duties: The Laundry Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the team of Linen and uniform attendants towards achieving the operational objectives while ensuring that the Club’s operational standards are met.
- Monthly inventory of cleaning products.
- Weekly inventory reported to the Housekeeping Manager for ordering.
- Make sure all safety procedures and rules are being followed.
- Store all Chemicals in a safe, locked place to prevent future accidents.
- Sort all linens and treat stains with the right chemicals.
- Load all laundry into the washer and add specified cleaning agents when needed.
- Take wet, clean items and dry as directed by manufacture.
- Reports any damage or deficiencies in the laundry items to the laundry supervisor or Housekeeping manager.
- Sort and fold or hang clean, dried items in their designated areas.
- Perform additional laundry services when necessary.
- Assists with other responsibilities and duties in the absence of other team members or other tasks assigned by the manager.
- Clean corridors, lobby, stairways, elevators, and lounges as well as guest rooms.
- Organize work schedule from the room status list, arrivals, and departures. Distribute linen, towels, and room supplies using wheeled carts or by hand.
- Store all dirty laundry in line with company policy and the laundry supervisor’s requests.
- Deliver any requested housekeeping items to guest rooms or common club areas.
- Follow all Wianno Club safety and security procedures.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor or manager on duty.
- Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products, techniques, methods, cleaning sensitive materials, and operating cleaning equipment.
- Ensure that all members' and guests' requests are communicated to the proper departments through established procedures.
- Instill in the staff the need for extraordinary personal service through attention to detail, quality communication, and follow-through.
- Be familiar with and follow the club’s emergency procedures and be prepared to handle an emergency if one arises.
- Represent the club in the highest standard possible both on and off the property.
