This role is a chance to lead and grow the design team while strengthening the design function inside our Product Operating Model. You will partner closely with Product and Engineering to drive customer-centered discovery, move quickly through rapid prototyping and validation, and deliver experiences that are intuitive, modern, and genuinely delightful for rail operators. You will also raise the bar on consistency and craft by evolving our design system, establishing shared standards, and coaching the team to ship high-quality work with speed.

This position's anticipated base salary range is 157,000 to 210,000. Final compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and location. Hybrid: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday are in-office days at our corporate office in Bolingbrook, IL. Core Functions
Design Operations Systems Leadership
- Establish the UI/UX standards, processes, and design system that become foundational to our product organization
- Build repeatable workflows that support discovery, prototyping, and high‑quality delivery
- Evolve our Figma design system (components, tokens, variants, libraries)
- Lead end‑to‑end design across platforms, from customer‑facing tools to developer experiences
- Drive continuous discovery and user research
- Translate insights into intuitive web and mobile experiences that solve real user problems
- Grow, mentor, and inspire a team of product designers
- Create a culture centered on usability, accessibility, and customer outcomes
- Provide coaching, feedback, and support career progression
- 5 years in product, UX, or interaction design for SaaS/B2B software
- Experience managing designers or leading cross‑functional work
- Strong end‑to‑end portfolio, from discovery through high‑fidelity UI
- Figma expert with deep system‑level design experience
- Skilled in user research, journey mapping, prototyping, and testing
- Comfortable building structure from ambiguity
- Passion for solving complex problems in fast‑moving environments
