Cash Applications Lead

Summary/Objective

The Cash Application lead position is responsible to efficiently handle the processing and application of payments received from clients.

Essential Functions

• Processes recurring credit card payments according to procedure.
• Identifies insufficient funds checks and processes according to procedure.
• Identifies short pay and overpays and works with the Accounts Receivable team to resolve according to procedure.
• Maintains payment files (filing check copies and posting reports).
• Supports Account Receivable Specialist with detailed research on customer/Vendor Accounts.
• Perform additional duties per Supervisor’s direction.

Competencies

• Strong data entry skills, along with a knack for numbers.
• Hands-on experience in operating spreadsheets and accounting software.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Customer service orientation and negotiation skills.
• A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills.

Supervisory Responsibility

The Cash Application Lead has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Working conditions

Work Environment

This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk.

This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending or standing on a stool as necessary.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm. The employee must work 40 hours each week to maintain full-time status.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent.
• 1 years work experience as a cash application specialist
