The Residential Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of a residential facility, ensuring that residents receive the highest quality of care and support. This position requires a compassionate individual who is dedicated to enhancing the lives of residents, particularly those with developmental disabilities, dementia, or other special needs. The Residential Manager will lead a team of caregivers and support staff, fostering a safe and nurturing environment for all residents.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities within the residential facility, ensuring compliance with all regulations and standards.
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including personal care, meal preparation, and medication administration.
- Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals and family members.
- Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs and addressing any changes in their condition.
- Provide training and support to staff on best practices for caring for individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer’s disease, and other memory-related conditions.
- Maintain accurate records using EMR systems to document resident progress and care provided.
- Ensure a clean and safe living environment by overseeing housekeeping duties and maintenance needs.
- Facilitate social activities that promote engagement and well-being among residents.
- Drive residents to appointments or community activities as needed.
Skills
- Experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or long-term care settings is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of caregiving techniques, including dementia care, memory care, and behavior management.
- Proficiency in administering medications and understanding medical protocols related to senior care.
- Familiarity with operating equipment such as Hoyer lifts for resident mobility assistance.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effectively working with individuals with disabilities and their families.
- Ability to manage staff effectively while fostering teamwork and collaboration within the facility.
- Excellent organizational skills to maintain records, schedules, and compliance documentation.
- Experience in social work or direct support roles is a plus. This position requires a dedicated individual who is passionate about providing exceptional care to residents while managing a supportive team environment.
