What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dog Runner position at Who's Walking Who?
Job Description:
We are dog runners, specializing in K9 fitness and well-being. It's our job to exercise our dogs while helping with energy and anxiety management, all while keeping proper leash behavior in mind. Pay is per session, ranging from $11 up to $32. Minimum you can make is $23/hr., with opportunity for raises, bonuses, and gas reimbursement. Work is part-time and mostly in the mornings, however we have sessions booked most hours of the day and weekends with opportunities for extra pay through house sittings.
Requirements and Expectations:
- Must be capable of a nine-minute pace (jog) for upwards of 30 minutes as that makes up a vast majority of our sessions.
- Responsible for your safety as well as the dog's while on a run. That means being able to pay attention to not only your dog, but your surroundings as well.
- While a dog is on leash, you represent Who's Walking Who, and are therefore required to dress and act appropriately in accordance with our standards. Uniforms and proper equipment will be provided.
- We operate in 2 hour time slots. You're expected to be at the client's location within that window and have your run started. Ideally as close to their requested time as possible. The earlier the better during summer months.
- We run all year round, with exceptions for extreme weather. We also work holidays in which holiday pay is provided. 2 week notice for time off requests is preferred.
- Recording and filling out reports via Strava Running App.
- Must have reliable transportation to clients' houses.
- You will be required as part of the interview process to submit a recorded run for verification of ability to perform job roles.
