Whitley East, a leader in the commercial modular building industry, is seeking an experienced Estimator. Under the direction of the Sales Manager, the estimator will play a key role in supporting sales and project delivery by preparing accurate, detailed cost estimates for modular building projects. This position works closely with Sales, Engineering, and Production to ensure estimates reflect project scope, compliance requirements, and material/labor needs. The Estimator also assists in customer relations by providing timely bids, tracking proposals, and supporting follow-up throughout the sales cycle.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for modular building projects, including materials, labor, subcontractors, and compliance costs.
- Research and verify special pricing, modular codes, and structural requirements.
- Support customer bidding efforts with complete, competitive proposals.
- Track, follow up, and report on outstanding bids and proposals.
- Develop and submit submittal packages as required.
- Price change orders and red-line changes with accuracy and speed.
- Prepare thorough sales release packages for Engineering to ensure smooth project handoff.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with potential and existing clients, vendors, and partners.
- Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and Production teams to align estimates with plant capacity and construction methods.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field; or equivalent relevant experience.
- 3 years of estimating experience in modular construction, general contracting, or related manufacturing/construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction documents, building codes, and cost structures.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and drawings.
- Proficiency in estimating software, spreadsheets, and ERP systems.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
- Customer-focused mindset with the ability to manage multiple bids under tight deadlines.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
