Vehicle Licensing Representative
We are a long‑established, family‑owned licensing subagency serving the Monroe community for more than 47 years. Our team is known for friendly service, accuracy, and professionalism. We are seeking a professional who is easy to train and works well with others.
Position Overview
As a VLR, you will play a key role in delivering accurate licensing services and exceptional customer support. This position requires strong attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Process vehicle and vessel transactions: Review, verify, and complete licensing transactions in compliance with state and county regulations.
- Cashiering & financial accuracy: Accept payments (cash, check, debit), prepare daily reports, and reconcile financial records.
- Document review & issuance: Examine legal documents—including court orders and certificates of ownership—and issue updated ownership documents.
- Customer service: Assist customers in person, by phone, and through written communication regarding licensing questions and requirements.
- Inventory management: Receive, verify, and maintain workstation inventory; reconcile discrepancies; complete daily audits.
- Technology use: Operate the Department of Licensing statewide system and other software tools for processing and customer support.
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who bring the following:
Required
- Strong customer service background.
- Experience with cashiering, basic accounting, and general office procedures.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer/database applications.
Ability To
- Lift up to 30 pounds.
- Interpret and apply state and county licensing laws.
- Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
- Work effectively in a team environment and remain calm under pressure.
- Provide courteous, accurate, and efficient service to the public.
- Balance funds and reconcile accounts with precision.
