What are the responsibilities and job description for the SLEEP LAB TECHNICIAN, FT (6:30PM -7:00AM) position at Whitfield Regional Hospital?
Summary Of Duties: Performs attended, sleep disorder testing. Gathers Patient information. Educates the patient on diagnostic equipment and overnight sleep study.
Educational Qualifications: High school diploma.
Experience/ Training: Knowledge of the specialized field of Polysomnography, EEG Technology, and Respiratory Care and working towards licensure.
Licenses: Variable.
Status and Scope: Reports to Department Manager of Sleep Facility.
Essential Job Duties:
- Develop weekly testing schedules.
- Prepare diagnostic equipment to perform the sleep studies.
- Acts and dresses in a professional manner, treats patients with courtesy.
- Gather patient information packets which include patient consent forms, pre sleep
- questionnaires, and technologist’s comments sheets.
- Set-up, instruct, and educate the patients on testing procedures.
- Answer any questions the patients may have.
- The technician shall be available to our patients throughout entire process.
- Retrieve the equipment, patient consent form, and post sleep questionnaires.
- Documents his/her report on the technologist comments sheet.
