What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bartender position at Whitey's Fish camp?
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Welcome each guest personally using enthusiastic words, tone, and body language always
- Make guests feel appreciated
- Work as a team with all personnel to maintain an effective atmosphere and an efficient food and beverage service
- Work with others to keep all areas always clean and stocked to the company’s standards
- Mix, garnish, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for patrons of the bar and dining room following standard recipes and drink specs.
- Input drink orders into computer immediately, collect money from guests for drinks served and make change
- Arrange bottles and glasses to maintain an attractive display
- Wash and sterilize stemware
- Follow all the guidelines for alcohol safety and sanitation.
- Set up, stock, and break down the bar before and after your scheduled shift.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate needs to management.
- Count drinks guests are served and track open bar tabs
- Anticipate guests’ needs and follow the half-full rule when offering another drink; remain alert of guests’ signals (raising a hand, looking directly at you, etc.), and acknowledge signals
- Learns guests’ names, occupations, and favorite drinks
- Responsibly serve alcohol and remain aware of guests’ state of intoxication
- Work well under pressure with a positive, patient attitude
- Perform other duties as assigned
A Bartender should possess the following Qualifications & Experience:
- Must be 21 years old
- At least 12 months bartending experience in a full-service restaurant
- Ability to pass Responsible Service of Alcohol Test with a score of 90% or better
- Basic mathematical skills and an ability to handle money and give correct change
- Possess knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits, and familiarity with standard drink recipes
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Must be multi-task oriented
- Possess knowledge of company’s food and beverage specifications and workplace safety procedures
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, continuously bend, reach and twist
