Operator, Large Water Systems Position Summary:
The Operator will be primarily responsible for all facets of the water treatment and water supply. Assist with water system and facility maintenance and interaction with the public.
Hiring Requirements/Preferences for Operator, Large Water Systems:
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Three months' experience in a similar position is desired.
- Work well in a team environment.
- Computer experience is required. Have the ability to understand and manipulate MS Office, SCADA, and RTU controls.
- Ability to read, analyze, interpret and respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers. Ability to present information to top management, or public groups.
- Extremely good mathematical skills are required for this position. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
- Plan interpretation and regulation comprehension is essential. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Commonwealth of Massachusetts Grade 1 Treatment license, or ability to attain within 6 months.
- This position is a minimum 40-hour position, 5 days per week 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m., with on-call duties weeknights and weekends as directed by the Chief Operator. This position May require a Saturday or Sunday as part of a normal weekly schedule depending on the exact shift that becomes open. This is also subject to change on an "as needed" basis.
- OSHA 10 General Industry Certification, or ability to obtain during pre-employment (company provided online training).
- Obtain and maintain a DOT medical card and pass pre-employment drug screen.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Candidate must live within 30 minutes of Southbridge
