Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Mobile Diesel Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in vehicle maintenance and repair, particularly with diesel engines. This role requires 3 years hands-on experience as a mobile tech and the ability to work with various types of Class 7 and 8 trucks and trailers. The Diesel Technician will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring that all vehicles are operating at peak performance and DOT standards.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues in diesel engines and related systems.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on Class 7 and 8 trucks and trailers, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Utilize schematics to understand vehicle systems and align components effectively.
- Perform DOT and Preventive Maintenance inspections to include proper completion of associated paperwork.
- Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently as needed for repairs or maintenance tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed on each vehicle.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of service requests.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in diesel technology.
- Capable of working unsupervised.
Skills
- Proficient in HVAC systems relevant to diesel engines.
- Experience with heavy equipment operation is preferred.
- Familiarity with dealership processes is a plus.
- Excellent Computer diagnostic knowledge.
- Strong vehicle maintenance skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during repairs.
- Competence in reading and interpreting schematics for effective troubleshooting.
- Computer literacy is a must.
