Role Description This is an on-site/hybrid role for a Senior Account Executive based in Gastonia, NC. The account executive will support producers in managing commercial accounts, including preparing quotes, gathering underwriting information, and assisting with policy changes and renewals. Daily tasks include communicating with clients and carriers, updating account information in agency systems, and organizing documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance. The role also involves participating in prospecting and retention activities, such as preparing proposals, supporting presentations, and following up on service requests. The account executive will gain exposure to agency operations, learn best practices in client relationship management, and collaborate with colleagues across departments.
Qualifications
- Strong interest in commercial and risk management, and client service within an independent agency environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, carriers, and team members.
- Solid organizational and time-management abilities, including attention to detail, follow-through, and the capacity to handle multiple tasks.
- Comfort with learning and using insurance agency management systems, office productivity tools, and basic data entry and documentation processes.
- Collaborative mindset, willingness to learn, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and supporting team goals.
- Coursework or background in business, finance, risk management, or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work remote and on-site in Gastonia, NC in accordance with company schedules and policies.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate brings an active Property and Casualty license and at least five years of commercial lines experience. You are highly organized, detail‑oriented, and communicate with confidence and clarity in both written and verbal settings. Proficiency in Microsoft products is expected, along with a working knowledge of agency management systems—Vertafore/AMS 360 CRM experience is strongly preferred. Industry designations such as CIC or CISR are valued and support your credibility as a commercial insurance professional.
