Duties
- Manage payroll processing using systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, UltiPro, Kronos, Ceridian, and other supported payroll platforms, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts related to payroll and benefits administration, utilizing accounting software like QuickBooks, PeopleSoft, or governmental accounting systems.
- Ensure compliance with employment and labor laws, tax regulations, and payroll tax obligations by staying current on legal updates and implementing necessary adjustments.
- Handle confidential information with integrity while managing employee data entry, benefits administration, and payroll records within HRIS systems.
- Support benefits administration processes including enrollments, changes, and inquiries while coordinating with benefits providers.
- Conduct detailed analysis of payroll data, prepare journal entries for financial reporting, and perform general ledger reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of time & attendance systems like Kronos or similar platforms to track employee hours accurately.
- Support audits related to payroll tax filings, governmental reporting requirements, and internal controls to uphold compliance standards.
- Perform routine administrative tasks such as data entry, document management, and generating reports using spreadsheets or specialized financial software.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with payroll systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, UltiPro, Kronos or Ceridian is essential.
- Strong knowledge of corporate accounting principles including double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, debits & credits, and general ledger reconciliation.
- Familiarity with HRIS platforms and time & attendance systems for efficient payroll management.
- In-depth understanding of employment law, labor law compliance, tax law related to payroll taxes, and governmental reporting requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information discreetly with high attention to detail in data entry and record keeping.
- Proficiency in spreadsheets (Excel), accounting software (QuickBooks or similar), and financial analysis tools is required.
- Excellent organizational skills combined with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets for accurate reporting and decision-making.
