Job Summary:
Whitesburg Christian Academy is seeking a dedicated and passionate teacher to join our faculty for grades 7-12 in English. The ideal candidate will have a strong content background, a love for teaching, and a commitment to fostering a Christ-centered learning environment. The teacher will integrate biblical principles into the curriculum, and help students to gain knowledge and develop a Biblical worldview.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach core English courses for students in grades 7-12.
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that promote a strong understanding of academic concepts while aligning with the school's Christian values.
- Encourage critical thinking, creativity, and historical inquiry while incorporating the principles of faith and the teachings of Scripture.
- Assess and evaluate students' academic progress through assignments, projects, and exams.
- Foster a supportive, respectful, and Christ-centered classroom environment that nurtures students' spiritual and academic growth.
- Collaborate with other faculty members to enhance cross-curricular learning.
- Participate in school-related activities, in school-related activities, including faculty meetings, chapel services, peer mentoring, and extracurricular events.
- Communicate regularly with students, parents, and school leadership regarding academic progress and behavior.
- Stay current with advancements in education and integrate best practices into teaching.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in English or English Language Arts Education.
- Valid stat teaching certification in English Language Arts for grades 7-12 preferred.
- Teaching experience preferred.
- Must be able to acquire and maintain ACSI teacher certification.
- Strong personal faith and alignment with the school's Christian mission.
- Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
- Ability to inspire and engage students with a diverse range of abilities.
