Full-Time Maintenance Technician
Whitemarsh Valley Country Club is in search of an enthusiastic, service-focused professional to join our team. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for preserving the good condition and functionality of premises. You will perform maintenance tasks of great variety such as painting, basic HVAC PM's, plumbing, etc. A Maintenance Technician is a thorough professional with a practical mind and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be able to work autonomously and responsibly by observing all health and safety guidelines. The goal is to maintain the buildings and common areas in the best possible condition.
About Us
Founded in 1908, Whitemarsh Valley Country Club is a traditional, member owned private club with 650 members (385 golfing), gross revenue of $8 million with annual food and beverage revenue of $3.3 million, and approximately 20,000 rounds of golf played per year. The Club is open six days per week, 11 1⁄2 months per year, and has an18-hole golf course designed by George C. Thomas, Jr. Dining facilities include the ala carte Thomas Grille with seating of 80 in the off season and 150 in season with patio dining, Widener Room seating up to100 and ballroom seating of 300 for banquets, a Men's Locker House that includes dining, a Halfway House, and a recently renovated swimming pool complex including a Snack Bar and Cabana Bar. The main Clubhouse, which includes member dining facilities, banquet space, staff offices and pro shop, underwent an extensive renovation in 2018.
Position Overview
- Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards
- Perform maintenance of electrical systems (replace light bulbs and sockets, clean and repair circuit breaker panels etc.)
- Assist in the setup of ventilation, refrigeration and other systems and conduct repairs when necessary
- Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality
- Inspect alarm systems (fire, protection) and schedule repairs when needed
- Perform manual repairs when necessary (fix locks, replace windows etc.)
- Conduct general upkeep procedures (e.g. trash walk) and other tasks as assigned (painting, carpentry etc.)
- Assist in budget preparation and ensure it is followed
Position Requirements:
- The ability to acknowledge, diagnose, and correct various issues that arise
- Comfortable working individually and as a team
- Exceptional task tracking and communication skills
- Proven experience as maintenance technician
- Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems
- Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
- Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices
- Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
- Good physical condition and strength with a willingness to work overtime
- High school diploma or equivalent; building maintenance technology or relevant field will be a plus
- Painting and drywall repair experience needed
Compensation
- Competitive hourly pay commensurate with experience
