- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor residents’ health by taking vital signs, observing for changes, and reporting findings according to HIPAA regulations and care plans
- Administer medications accurately and safely following prescribed instructions and documentation protocols
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist residents during meal times to promote independence and social interaction
- Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties such as cleaning common areas and resident rooms
- Support residents with cognitive impairments such as dementia or Alzheimer’s disease through memory care techniques and personalized engagement strategies
- Document all care activities meticulously, adhering to HIPAA standards and facility policies while updating care plans regularly
- Respond promptly to emergencies with first aid or CPR when needed, ensuring resident safety at all times
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and family members to develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to each resident’s needs
- Proven experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, or in hospice or senior care settings
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques and monitoring vital signs accurately
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts or other mobility aids
- Strong understanding of medication administration procedures and HIPAA compliance for confidentiality
- Excellent caregiving skills with a compassionate approach towards residents’ physical and emotional needs
- Familiarity with assisted living environments, home health services, nursing homes, or group homes is highly desirable
- Ability to perform light cleaning duties efficiently while maintaining hygiene standards
- Effective communication skills for working collaboratively with team members, residents, families, and healthcare providers
- Certifications such as CPR and First Aid are required; additional certifications in dementia or Alzheimer’s care are a plus
- Physical stamina for long shifts involving patient monitoring and assisting with mobility tasks
