Pay: Hourly pay Overtime $ Daily Per Diem (For Travelers)
WHTalent Solutions is hiring for an Assistant Superintendent to support a $10B data center campus in Cedar Rapids, IA with a top 10 ENR General Contractor.
This is a field-based role supporting large-scale, high-performance construction. You will be on-site daily, coordinating subcontractors and helping drive project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Superintendent in daily field operations
- Coordinate and manage subcontractors (schedule, sequencing, accountability)
- Enforce jobsite safety and quality standards
- Manage subcontractors (schedule, sequencing, accountability)
- Assist with trade coordination across mechanical, electrical, and structural scopes
- Track progress, identify issues early, and communicate effectively
- Support scheduling and short-term lookahead planning
- Maintain jobsite organization and documentation
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of on-site commercial construction experience as an Assistant Superintendent (or equivalent field leadership role) with a General Contractor
- Hands-on, on-site experience coordinating or managing subcontractors
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, safety, and quality standards
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced jobsite environment and keep work moving on schedule
- Experience supporting or leading portions of a project (Assistant Superintendent, Field Engineer, Project Coordinator, or similar)
- Comfortable working extended hours on-site (typical 50–60 hours/week)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting or leading data center / mission critical projects (highly preferred)
- Background in healthcare, life sciences, or other technically complex construction builds
- Experience on large-scale commercial or industrial projects with multiple trades and tight schedules
- Exposure to fast-track schedules, phased builds, or high-volume project sites
- OSHA 30 Certification
- Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project proficiency
Bonus:
- $1,000 every 3 months
- $2,500 upon project completion
