Whitehall High School is seeking an assistant boys' basketball coach. The basketball season runs November 19 - March 13. This is a seasonal stipend position. Compensation is $2,528 - $3,543 DOE for the season.
Duties
- Assist the head coach in planning and executing basketball practices, drills, and game strategies.
- Support student-athletes in developing fundamental basketball skills such as shooting, passing, dribbling, and defense.
- Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, discipline, and respect among players during practices and competitions.
- Help monitor player behavior on and off the court, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment.
- Foster positive relationships with students by providing mentorship and guidance related to sportsmanship and personal development.
- Support event setup, equipment management, and other logistical tasks necessary for successful team operations.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in sports coaching or teaching physical education is highly preferred.
- Background in basketball playing or coaching is essential
- Experience working with children or adolescents in childcare or educational settings is desirable.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate and engage students effectively.
