Outside Parts Sales Representative

Job Summary

Whiteford Kenworth is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Outside Parts Sales Representative to develop new business, grow existing accounts, and serve as a trusted partner to customers within an assigned territory. This role is responsible for promoting and selling OEM and replacement parts for heavy-duty trucks and trailers while building strong customer relationships and delivering exceptional service. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong sales and communication skills, a passion for customer service, and the ability to identify opportunities that drive growth.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers while actively pursuing new business opportunities within an assigned territory
• Regularly visit customer locations to identify parts needs, provide solutions, and promote products and services
• Increase sales and market share through effective territory management and business development activities
• Prepare quotes, follow up on opportunities, and close sales to achieve established revenue goals
• Collaborate with Parts Department personnel to ensure timely order fulfillment and customer satisfaction
• Serve as a knowledgeable resource by educating customers on product features, availability, and benefits
• Monitor market conditions, customer needs, and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities
• Maintain accurate customer records, sales activity, and account information
• Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally while maintaining positive customer relationships
• Uphold company standards for customer service, professionalism, appearance, and business practices at customer locations, industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities
• Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements
• Maintain a clean and organized company vehicle and work environment
• Ability to maintain regular attendance and work scheduled hours necessary to meet customer and business needs
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of outside sales, account management, or related customer-facing experience required
• Proven ability to build relationships, generate new business, and achieve sales goals
• Strong communication, negotiation, and closing skills
• Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities
• Proficient computer skills and experience using business software applications
• Basic mathematical aptitude for pricing, quoting, and sales calculations
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record and ability to meet company insurability requirements
• Commercial truck, heavy-duty parts, transportation, fleet, or dealership experience preferred but not required
• Knowledge of PACCAR products and truck parts is preferred

Physical Requirements

• Regularly stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and use hands and fingers to operate computers, mobile devices, vehicles, and office equipment
• Ability to sit and drive for extended periods of time while traveling throughout an assigned sales territory
• Ability to lift, move, and carry up to 60 pounds regularly and occasionally lift or move more than 100 pounds with assistance or appropriate equipment
• Ability to enter and navigate customer facilities, service shops, and warehouses, including climbing stairs when necessary
• Must possess sufficient visual acuity to read computer screens, pricing information, parts catalogs, and customer documentation
• Must possess sufficient hearing and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with customers, coworkers, and vendors in person and by telephone
• Ability to work in office, warehouse, and outdoor environments with occasional exposure to noise, dust, dirt, grease, moving equipment, and varying weather conditions
