About the position
The Director of Plant Operations in Long-Term Care is responsible for overseeing and managing maintenance, housekeeping,and grounds operations within a skilled nursing facility. This role focuses on ensuring a safe and well-maintained environment for residents and staff, implementing preventative maintenance programs, housekeeping and laundry systems and coordinating daily maintenance services for all plant departments. The position requires strong technical skills in various maintenance areas, including HVAC, plumbing, and carpentry, along with excellent organizational and communication abilities.
Responsibilities
- Assist in setting maintenance standards and establishing a preventative maintenance program
- Establish and oversee a Hazardous Materials program and a Tag Out/Lock Out program
- Inspect and repair HVAC equipment
- Repair and install drywall, including mudding, taping, and sanding
- Paint walls
- Perform minor plumbing and electrical repairs
- Conduct general rough and finish carpentry and concrete work
- Handle general landscaping and yard work, including cleanup and snow/ice removal
- Coordinate daily maintenance services
- Ensure an adequate supply of maintenance supplies
- Perform administrative tasks such as inspections and reports
- Manage 10 employees
Requirements
- Proven experience in long-term care maintenance is required
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general maintenance
- Ability to establish and maintain preventative maintenance and safety programs
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
