What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parts Counter Person position at Whited Truck Center?
Looking for a motivated experienced parts counterperson for a heavy duty truck dealership to sell parts to all customers, over the counter, through the shop, and over the phone.
The essential job functions are as follows:
- Must be able to work 40 hours.
- Help determine and obtain heavy duty parts for customers as requested by phone or in person.
- Special order parts on an emergency basis when necessary and appropriate.
- Read catalogs, or computer displays in order to determine replacement part stock numbers and prices.
- Maintain confidentiality of pricing lists and structures as required by company procedure.
- Answer customers’ questions about products, prices, availability, and product features.
- Process service department requests.
- Process approved credits for customer when merchandise is returned.
- Assist front counter customers.
- Handle warranty or defective parts for customers in accordance with company procedure.
- Participates in all training programs made available. *Special projects. Must be experienced in parts/ heavy duty experience a plus. Salary based on experience
QUALIFICATIONS
3-5 years sales experience in business to business, equipment, parts or truck related sales very helpful.
Ability to read and comprehend English instructions and information
High school diploma or the equivalent
Valid in-state driver's license Ability to use Windows based computer systems, Microsoft Office excel/word, and read vendor catalogs
Excellent organization and communication skills
