As a Sourcing Specialist, you will be responsible for...
- Sourcing supplies and maintaining long-lasting relationships with them as well as our existing suppliers.
- Implementing inventory optimization strategies within in the company.
- Obtaining quotes from different suppliers.
- Negotiating price, quantity, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
- Working with legal counsel to endures that all contracts relating to product procurement contain all details of the negation.
- Assessing quotes and compiling a detailed assessment of cost breakdowns.
- Generating quote comparisons and contributing to internal supplier selection based on the quotes.
- Providing solutions to improve company spending and outsourcing
- Indirect Sourcing and Procurement
Build Relationships with Suppliers:
- Forming relationships with important suppliers in the industry.
- Maintaining relationships with their suppliers in order to ensure continual improvement in sourcing.
Negotiate Deals:
- Negotiating deals and contracts with suppliers. They negotiate pricing, quantity, and delivery schedules.
- Should anything change in the sourcing process, they’re responsible for renegotiating new contracts as well.
Drafting Contracts:
- TDrafting detailed contracts to be reviewed by both their company and the supplier.
- Working in conjunction with legal counsel to include all of the details of their negotiation. Once the contract is complete, submitting necessary paperwork and communicating contact deals with their company.
Understanding Company’s Commodities:
- In order to be an expert in the sourcing process for their company, the Sourcing Specialist must have an in-depth knowledge of their commodity industry.
- They have to understand the ins and outs of the commodity to know how to effectively source it, and they also have to have knowledge of all key players and suppliers in the industry.
What you already have...
- 3-4 years of relevant experience and a Bachelors’ degree in administration, logistics, supply chain or related field.
- Proven experience in sourcing process.
- Proficiency in Microsoft word, PowerPoint, excel and outlook.
- A thorough understating of sourcing methodologies.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Sound time-management and organizational skills.
