Whitecrest Eatery is seeking an experienced, passionate, and motivated Sous Chef to join our leadership team. We are a scratch kitchen focused on quality ingredients, exceptional hospitality, creativity, and teamwork. This is an opportunity to play a key role in menu development, kitchen leadership, and creating memorable dining experiences for our guests.
What You'll Do
As Sous Chef, you will work closely with ownership and management to oversee daily kitchen operations while maintaining Whitecrest's standards for food quality, consistency, cleanliness, and hospitality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support daily kitchen operations for lunch, brunch, dinner, and special events
- Supervise, train, coach, and develop BOH team members
- Ensure all food is prepared and presented to Whitecrest standards
- Create weekly specials, including starters, entrees, soups, and desserts
- Collaborate on menu development and seasonal offerings
- Assist with private event and catering menu creation
- Manage inventory, ordering, prep lists, and daily kitchen organization
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and allergy protocols
- Communicate effectively with FOH leadership to ensure exceptional guest experiences
- Serve as Person in Charge (PIC) when ownership is not on-site
- Foster a positive, professional, and team-oriented kitchen culture
What We're Looking For
- Previous Sous Chef or kitchen leadership experience
- Strong cooking skills with a passion for scratch-made food
- Ability to lead by example and hold high standards
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with inventory management and ordering
- ServSafe Certification (or ability to obtain)
- Creative mindset with interest in menu and special development
- Positive attitude, adaptability, and a solution-oriented approach
